Man, this was rough. A solid start by Casey Fossum went to waste because the Devil Rays never got their bats going. He gave up two runs on six hits with two strikeouts in seven innings of work. Then Brian Stokes gave up the game winning homerun to Justin Morneau in the bottom of the ninth as the Rays lost it 3-2.
The Rays picked up both of their runs in the eighth inning. Ty Wigginton hit a solo homerun and Carlos Pena an RBI single for the two runs. Four Rays had two hits and the team stranded 11 base runners.
Tonight is a nice matchup between Scott Kazmir and Johan Santana. Man, it’d be huge if we won this one but I’m not holding my breath.
