The pitching was just okay but the hitters got the job done today as Devil Rays salvaged a split of their four game series with the Twins. Delmon Young hit a two run homer and Dioner Navarro went two for four with an RBI and two runs.
Jae Seo wasn’t awful. He gave up four runs on nine hits with four strikeouts in seven innings. Brian Stokes picked up the win with a shutout eighth and Al Reyes struck out two and shut the Twins out in the ninth to pick up the save.
At 5-7, the Rays are right behind the Yankees. And there’s no rest here either as the Orioles come to town for three games. James Shields gets the start for the Rays in the series opener.
