The Tampa Bay Rays lost a heart breaker on Saturday afternoon in Toronto as they took on the Blue Jays. The Rays scored a run in the top of the 13th inning but gave up four in the bottom half of the inning as they lost 7-4. The Rays record is now 85-55.
James Shields started on the mound for the Rays and was very sharp. Shields managed to get through eight innings and gave up only three runs. Shields also walked a pair and struck out three as he picked up a no-decision. The Rays bullpen was pretty sharp with the exception of Troy Percival. Percival was brutal in the 13th inning as he gave up three hits and four runs including a game winning three run homer in the 13th. Percival’s record is now 2-1.
The Rays took a 4-3 lead in the 13th inning when Dioner Navarro singled in a run. Akinori Iwamura led the Rays with three hits while Carlos Pena, Rocco Baldelli and Navarro each had two. The Rays trailed 3-0 heading into the ninth inning when Baldelli hit a two run homer to bring the Rays to within 3-2. Baldelli’s homer was is third of the season.
The Rays lead over the Red Sox is now only two games. The Rays and Jays will wrap up their series tomorrow afternoon in Toronto.

Isn’t it time to either move Percival out or at least relegate him to a lesser role?

they are choking I am trying to prepare mysself this is going to be really ugly I predict they will lose the boston series 45 -3 and wont make the playoffs losing 20 of last 25 games they turned into the devil rays so much for maddon as mgr of year not going to happen this will be the begining of the end for him – he is making all the wrong moves and will continue to do so.
