The Tampa Bay Rays bats really sparked to life against the AL West leading Angels on Monday night. The Rays weren’t phased by nine game winner Joe Saunders as they hit homer after homer on their way to a 13-4 win. The win bumps them up to 39-26 on the season.
Edwin Jackson started on the mound for the Rays and got all of the run support he would need. Jackson went seven innings and gave up all four Angel runs. The win moves his record to 4-5. This wasn’t his best outing of the season but he finally got some run support and got a much deserved win. Al Reyes and Gary Glover closed out the final two innings.
There was plenty to be excited about on the offensive side of things on Monday, but the best was back to back to back home runs in the second inning. Evan Longoria, Willy Aybar, and Dioner Navarro all hit home runs off of Saunders to put the Rays up 3-0. Longoria his another solo home run in the ninth inning for the other Rays homer on the evening. Navarro went 4-5 with three runs scored and drove in four of his own. Every Rays starter had at least one hit while six of them had at least two hits.
The Rays and Angels will play game two of their three game series on Tuesday night. James Shields is scheduled to start on the hill for the Rays against Jered Weaver of the Angels. Game time is 10:05pm.

The Tampa Bay Rays have thousands of fans all over the world. Here, I may consider myself as one of the big fans of this wonderful team. Whenever I’ve time I try to attend their games, though sometimes it becomes a little difficult to get Rays tickets and this is due to these great fans that the team has. Tampa Bay Rays tickets are a little pricy or hard to be found but the team, as a professional and essential team of MLB, worth any price to watch their games. And when we love a team we try as much as possible these financial obstacles.
